4. God the Son
God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, eternally pre-existed[1] and created the universe.[2] He was sent from heaven[3] to the earth to save sinners,[4]reveal and explain who God is, [5] and complete God’s plan of salvation.[6] He became fully man[7] without ceasing to be fully God[8] when was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.[9] Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life[10] to fulfill God’s laws,[11] prophecies,[12] and to transfer His perfect righteousness to sinners[13] so they can enter the Kingdom of God.[14] He proclaimed the gospel that His Kingdom was near,[15] performed miracles to destroy the works of the devil,[16] and predicted his death and resurrection.[17] He promised that all who repent of their sins,[18] believe by faith that He is the Son of God,[19] and follow Him as their Lord[20] will inherit eternal life.[21] Jesus died on the cross[22] to provide a perfect sacrifice[23] for the sins of the whole world.[24] His blood[25] was shed as a ransom price[26] required by God to free sinners from His coming wrath [27] and fair condemnation of their sins.[28] Jesus rose physically from the dead[29] to prove all his claims were true[30] and to demonstrate that He is the only way sinners can be forgiven all their sins,[31] reconciled to a right relationship with God,[32] and victorious over sin[33] and death.[34] Jesus ascended to heaven[35] and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father[36] where He intercedes on behalf of His followers.[37]
