What We Teach

The entire Bible, both Old and New Testament, is God’s Holy Word. It is the only divinely inspired, infallible, and inerrant revelation of God to man . The Bible was written by God through prophets and apostles, revealing divine truth that is clear, fully sufficient, and our only authority for faith and practice.

There is one God eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is equal, perfect in nature, and possesses the same attributes. They are all worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience. God is one essence consisting of three distinct persons having different, yet complimentary, roles and appearances throughout Scripture.

God the Father, the first person of the Trinity, is head over all creation and worthy of all glory. He is the Creator, Lawgiver, and Judge whose purposes cannot be thwarted and whose will shall be accomplished. God is eternal in His constitution, holy in His character, and sovereign in His capabilities. He is unchanging, ever-present, all-knowing, and all-powerful. God is perfect, demonstrating absolute love, mercy, justice, righteousness, and truth.

God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, eternally pre-existed and created the universe. He was sent from heaven to the earth to save sinners, reveal and explain who God is, and complete God’s plan of salvation. He became fully man without ceasing to be fully God when was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus lived a perfect and sinless life to fulfill God’s laws, prophecies, and to transfer His perfect righteousness to sinners so they can enter the Kingdom of God. He proclaimed the gospel that His Kingdom was near, performed miracles to destroy the works of the devil, and predicted His death and resurrection. He promised that all who repent of their sins, believe by faith that He is the Son of God, and follow Him as their Lord will inherit eternal life. Jesus died on the cross to provide a perfect sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. His blood was shed as a ransom price required by God to free sinners from His coming wrath and fair condemnation of their sins. Jesus rose physically from the dead to prove all His claims were true and to demonstrate that He is the only way sinners can be forgiven all their sins, reconciled to a right relationship with God, and victorious over sin and death. Jesus ascended to heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father where He intercedes on behalf of His followers.

God the Holy Spirit is eternal, was active in the creation of the world, and inspired the Old and New Testament Scriptures. He is present throughout the Old Testament providing wisdom, revelation, and victory for the leaders, prophets, and kings of Israel. In the New Testament, The Holy Spirit anointed and directed Jesus’ ministry and raised Him from the dead. He guided and empowered the Apostles with miraculous signs to authenticate their teaching. He enabled the early church to speak in different languages in order to spread the gospel. Today, He provides spiritual gifts and guarantees eternal life to every believer. He convicts the unbelieving world of their sin, their need to receive Jesus’ perfect righteousness, and warns of God’s coming judgment. He also draws, illuminates, and enables sinners towards repentance and faith prior to salvation. The Holy Spirit is God’s seal who marks those belonging to Him as children of God the moment they repent and in faith trust Jesus to be their personal Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit permanently indwells, and transforms every believer to be spiritually born again as a new creation living for the Lord. He empowers every believer to no longer be slaves to sin, but slaves of righteous growing in knowledge, obedience, and conformity to Christ. He enables every believer to live a life increasingly characterized by holiness, righteousness, and the fruits of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit produces assurance of salvation to every true believer and provides perseverance to remain faithful to Christ.

The triune God is the source, creator, and sustainer of all things and He designed everything to give Him glory. God created the entire universe in six 24-hour days and the age of the earth is relatively young. God’s creation was originally good and without sin or death, including Lucifer and the first humans Adam and Eve. The earth was changed to its current form after a worldwide flood during the time of Noah. God has revealed Himself to everyone through the amazing design, complexity, and continuous display of creation so that men are without excuse in denying His existence and ownership over all that He has made.

God created an innumerable company of glorious, spiritual beings, known as angels, to serve Him. They serve God as His messengers of both the spoken and written revelation of God and delivered His messages, divine judgments, and miraculous signs. They praise God as worshipers before His throne. They battle fallen angels in the heavenly realms. They aid the followers of God by providing wisdom, protection, provision, and assisting in prayer. Angels are invisible spirits that at God’s direction can appear in a human form. They gather the elect for glory and unbelievers for judgment. Angels are named and organized as archangels, cherubim, and seraphim.

A powerful angel named Lucifer sinned through pride and rebelled against God. He is also known as the Serpent, the Devil, the Evil One, and Satan. Satan, fell along with other fallen angels, called demons. They pursue their own glory and oppose everything that is of God. They keep unbelievers enslaved to sin blinded to the gospel and some they possess with total control. They are always deceiving, tempting, accusing, and seeking to destroy the followers of God. Satan was the originator of sin and the deceiver of Adam and Eve. Through their sin, mankind was subjected to Satan’s power. Satan and his demons now have temporary dominion in the world until their final judgment.

God created all men in His image to enjoy a personal relationship with Him and to be His stewards that rule over His creation. Adam, the first man, sinned and was punished by God with a curse of hard labor, physical death, and separation from God. Adam’s sin nature and curse was passed on to all mankind so that all men are born sinners, deserving death, separated from God, and awaiting judgment from God. All men have sinned and rebelled against God so that no man loves God, understands God, or seeks God. No man is considered righteous or a good person by God on account of their own effort or good deeds. All men are defiant, deceived, depraved, and deserving eternal punishment. Without God man is hopeless, unfulfilled, and lacks peace. Without a Savior, unsaved men are slaves to sin and called children of the devil, children of wrath, and enemies of God.

The only way sinners can be rescued from God’s coming wrath and reconciled to enjoy a personal relationship with God is by God’s grace alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and through faith alone. Salvation is totally by God’s grace because it is a gift that God planned, provided, and offers to every sinner. No sinner deserves or earns this gift by their good deeds. Salvation is accomplished solely through Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. His perfect life allows His righteousness to be transferred to sinners so they can meet God’s requirement of perfect righteousness to enter His Kingdom. His sacrificial death on the cross offered His perfect blood as the full payment for the sins of the entire world required to satisfy God’s justice and wrath against sin. His victorious resurrection proved that He is the only way sinners can overcome sin and death. Salvation is received completely on the basis of faith that turns to God and away from sin. Genuine belief involves repentance and faith that trusts in Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection to receive righteousness, forgiveness, and eternal life. Salvation is a covenant where a sinner comes to Jesus for salvation, asks Him to be their Lord, and commits to follow Jesus Christ as His slave. The moment this covenant of faith occurs in the heart, God declares the sinner righteous and justified, forgiven all their sins, and adopted as a child belonging to Him. Salvation is guaranteed by the indwelling Holy Spirit who causes believers to be born again to enjoy new life now and eternal life later. Salvation is recognized by a changed life that loves the Lord and is growing in obedience to the Lord’s commands. Salvation is secure and cannot be lost or forfeited because God is the author and finisher of salvation.

The church is comprised of all true believers who defend and declare truth to the world. The church is comprised of all true believers. Local churches are formed by believers who assemble and unite under biblically qualified elders and deacons for the purpose of worship, discipleship, evangelism, fellowship, and service. Elders are called to lead and shepherd the church by teaching sound doctrine, refuting those who contradict, and equipping the people towards spiritual maturity. Deacons are called to serve the needs of the church as examples of godliness. The Lord Jesus Christ has commanded the church to observe two ordinances until His return – baptism and communion. Christ is the head of the church and the church is the bride and body of Christ called to be holy and blameless.

Jesus will rapture His Church to heaven before the Tribulation period and judge them for rewards. God will pour out unimaginable wrath on the earth during a seven year tribulation when Satan empowers the Anti-Christ and False Prophet to unite and rule the world with a false peace and religion. The tribulation will end with Jesus’ second coming when He will return with all believers from heaven to save Israel from the armies gathered at Armageddon and judge the earth with fury. Jesus will cast the Anti-Christ and False Prophet into the Lake of Fire, bind Satan, and establish a one thousand year Kingdom in Israel. After the thousand years, Satan will lead a final rebellion when God sends fire from heaven to destroy His enemies and casts Satan eternally into the Lake of Fire. God will raise all unbelievers from the dead and they will all appear before Him at the Great White Throne Judgment and sentenced to be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. God will then make everything new and all believers from all time will worship and enjoy dwelling with God forever in an eternal state called the New Heaven.
